This year's Harvest Fest was a tremendous sucess! Beautiful weather and a great article about our Apple Pie Contest helped turn out hundreds of people to raise money for the cats and dogs of the Attleboro Animal Shelter. Pony rides, a jumperoo and kids activities were busy all day and the smell of burgers, dogs, and sausages on the grill kept attendees coming back for more! Tasty desserts and lots of apple pie topped off the lunch for everyone.

Pie contest guest judges Betty Poirier, Kevin Dumas and Sonny Almeida took their responsibilities very seriously and faced hard work choosing from among 14 entries, but at last a winner was announced - Jen Pierininorton with her Mom's Whole Wheat Caramel Apple Pie - followed by Bob Sharkey in second, and Maria Sharples in third.

DJ David Forrest - the Melody Maker - received rave reviews for his excellent selection of tunes which kept everyone entertained during the day and even had a few people dancing the macarena!

Lots of people took a chance on winning a raffle prize, including a weekend for two at the beautiful Harraseeket Inn in Freeport, Maine, but the one that got the biggest wow was when the Snip-It's Kids Hair Salon gift was unloaded from the car with its life-like stuffed dog! It looked so real that one rottweiler even started barking at it!

All in all, it was a great day that flew by too fast, as it always does, but we thank everyone who helped make this event so successful: our sponsors, donors, crafters, vendors, and volunteers, but most of all, YOU who attended. Thanks to all of you!
